This work is true grass roots organizing. This site provides a home for regional initiatives to organize and share information. If you would like to start your own regional initiative in support of our national Steel Interstate System or bring an existing initiative onto this site, click here.
This site was launched by Rail Solution, a not-for-profit citizens group in the Shenandoah Valley, Southwest Virginia, and East Tennessee, along I-81. RAIL Solution is campaigning for a Steel Interstate System instead of massive highway expansion, which at one time included truck-only lanes. This work only happens with the time of volunteers and the donations from supporters. RAIL Solution devoted the resources to jumpstart this national campaign in September 2010. We invite all who support these ideas to participate equally and democratically in the new North American Steel Interstate Coalition--NASIC--which is promoting these concepts.
